Hey Everyone!
So, the latest victim of twitter hacking and leaked photos of a 'questionable nature' is Hayley Williams. The fiery female vocalist had her twitpic account hacked the other day, and a photo in which her shirt is rolled up, was leaked briefly.
It sucks that people can have their privacy invaded like this. She may be a celebrity, but first and foremost, she's a human being. No one deserves to be exploited like this... I cant imagine how it would feel to be the victim of an act like this. Its so, so sad. And worst of all, it happens to celebrities and every day people all the time. In an age where everything is/can be made digital, its nearly impossible to make sure something you intend to be private, never goes public.
Hayley is a beautiful girl, who was the victim of an unfortunate circumstance. Lesson be learned- dont take provocative photos of yourself unless you are ready to deal with seeing them everywhere. Sadly, this is the world we live in. Look at Pete Wentz, he still hasnt lived that down. I guess the best you can do is take his advice, and try to have a sense of humor about it. So remember kids, DONT SEXT. You never know where that picture could end up. In the meantime, support Hayley! We're all human, we all make mistakes.

New Underoath Drummer Announced!
Hey Everyone!

Shortly after the announcement that Aaron Gillepsie would be leaving Underoath, the band have announced his replacement. Well... kind of. According to Facebook and Twitter posts, the band has been working closely with ex-Norma Jean drummer Daniel Davison. He has apparently had a part in writing, recording, and will even be touring with them soon. Could this mean that Daniel will be a new permanent fixture in the group? I think its totally possible. Norma Jean comes from the same genre/fan base as Underoath. Daniel is a solid drummer, but my question is: Can he sing? Because Aaron certainly can, and for that I will miss his presence in the band.
What would you think of Daniel joining Underoath? Let me know!

Martin Johnson of Boys Like Girls Jumped
Hey Everyone!

Fans of the pop rock group, Boys Like Girls, are taking over twitter with well wishes for the lead vocalist after he was jumped in Glasgow. After performing at the G2, the singer (Martin Johnson) was apparently jumped and beaten quite badly. He took to his twitter, posting pictures and briefly discussing the events... I mean, there is only so much you can say in 140 characters or less- right? Below are the twitter messages and links to some of the photos... please be advised that the pictures are quite graphic and may be disturbing (aka there is quite a bit of blood!)

"we are just doing our best to make light of and sprinkle a bit of humor on top of a shitty situation" (10:17pm 2/19/10)
Poor Martin, though reports say he is doing much better! Cant say I'm a huge fan of the group... they've got a few catchy tunes but nothing incredible in my mind. But point remains- No one deserves to get jumped and beaten up!

Burning Empires Take Over Myspace Airwaves
Hey Everyone!
So last I mentioned, some of the members of Fall Out Boy are taking the band's hiatus as a chance to diversify and try new things. Andy Hurley, drummer, being one of them. He and some friends from Misery Signals are working on a side project called Burning Empires... and they are on fire! They have already posted a few songs to their myspace and Spin, and twitter is in an uproar. Apparently no one thought the soft spoken, easy going drummer had it in him. The hard, fast, political tunes seem to be a hit so far. A long way from the poppy emo lyric tunes he produced with FOB. He is also working on a 2nd project with members of Anthrax and Every Time I Die called, The Damned Things. I personally like it, what do you think?

Warped Tour To Announce Dates
Hey Everyone!
For those of you, who like myself, are Warped Tour fanatics- the tour announced today via twitter that they will be announcing the dates this week. First week of December follows the typical time frame for this announcement, so it was only to be expected. But I have to say, I'm still pretty excited. I literally plan my summer around attending this, and have for the past 6 years. They have also announced on their facebook fan page that Alternative Press' Most Anticipated Releases of 2010 gives some good insight to the lineup that is beginning to form. Hmmm sounds good to me, I cant wait!

Fall Out Boy Announce Hiatus

"everyone, when i said fob was on hiatus, i didnt mean hiatus. i meant break. which is what i understood hiatus to mean...according to dictionary.com 1.a break or interruption in the continuity of a work, series, action, etc...2.a missing part; gap or lacuna: Scholars attempted to account for the hiatus in the medieval manuscript. 3. any gap or opening....that being the definition of hiatus." -Andy Hurley's Twitter Posts
So again, through the wonders of Twitter (who needs mainstream media outlets when you have this new technological wonder online? *side note: I HATE Twitter actually haha) another band has made a big announcement. It seems there will be no touring in Fall Out Boy's immediate future as the band have called a hiatus. Drummer Andy Hurley broke the news and was greeted to swarms of fans flooding his replies in fear of a hiatus turning into a breakup. A common enough occurance for sure, but Andy is currently trying to calm the twitterverse down with assurance that this is not the end of the band. They just need a break, kids. Calm yourselves, take a deep breath, and go back to your homework.
Personally, I cant say I'm shocked by this. Like them or not, you have to respect their dedication. Fall Out Boy have been touring relentlessly for quite some time now, and its probably beginning to take its toll. The boys have families and friends that deserve some attention after all this time. They also want to take time to "rediscover" their creativity according to bassist Pete Wentz. The boys will take some time out to dabble in different interests and relax away from the road. They recently wrapped up an opening slot on the highly anticipated Blink reunion tour and released a greatest hits album chronicling the past 7 years of their career.
Personally, I'm excited to see what they come back with... and I'm curious to see how Andy does with his return to hardcore (his side project for the hiatus, he's recording with some friends according to his twitter!)

Song of the Day: What A Catch, Donnie by Fall Out Boy... the third single released from Folie A Deux. I have to say, I LOVE this song. Patrick's voice is absolutely gorgeous. So unique, a combination of various influences and teaching styles (his father was a folk singer which is likely a factor in his not so traditional rock vocal style). I love how this song so beautifully captures his range. The lyrics are also stunning... "They say the captain goes down with the ship, So when the world goes down will God go down with it?... And all I can think of is the way I'm the one who charmed the one who gave up on you". All in all the song is brilliant in my opinion, even though it is a far cry from their earlier work. It also features a number of guest vocals by William Beckett, Gabe Saporta, Travis McCoy, Brendon Urie and the one and only Elvis Costello.
