New Underoath Drummer Announced!

Hey Everyone!
Shortly after the announcement that Aaron Gillepsie would be leaving Underoath, the band have announced his replacement. Well... kind of. According to Facebook and Twitter posts, the band has been working closely with ex-Norma Jean drummer Daniel Davison. He has apparently had a part in writing, recording, and will even be touring with them soon. Could this mean that Daniel will be a new permanent fixture in the group? I think its totally possible. Norma Jean comes from the same genre/fan base as Underoath. Daniel is a solid drummer, but my question is: Can he sing? Because Aaron certainly can, and for that I will miss his presence in the band.

What would you think of Daniel joining Underoath? Let me know!

Aaron Gillepsie Says Goodbye to Underoath

Hey Everyone!
So after much confusion and silence on their end, its become official... UnderOath drummer Aaron Gillepsie has left the band. As soon as this leg of their touring is completed, the boys will say goodbye. Sad day indeed, Aaron has some serious skills behind the kit. Absolutely amazing to watch. He also has a great vocal range which will definitely be missed by the fans and the group. Wont be the same without him.

Now, I have to wonder who's going to be taking over? Its not easy to find a drummer who can sing flawlessly at the exact same time!

Interesting fact: There are NO original band members left!

What do you think? Will you miss Aaron?

Underoath Van Crash!

Hey Everyone!
So as I told you before, bus crashes are the new black because we just added ANOTHER band to the list! UnderOath is the latest band to join the ranks. Alternative Press and the band's personal twitter are confirming that the van carrying their equipment was mangled in a crash. The driver sustained some injuries and is currently stable, but most of the equipment was totaled in the wreck. It honestly looks like a miracle for the driver to be alive after this, so best wishes to the driver, Zach, for a speedy recovery. The van looks pretty much destroyed from these pictures, posted to their twitter and facebook pages. As a result, their show tonight in Omaha will be cancelled. No news yet on the rest of the tour dates.

Lets hope this trend is gonna slow down soon, its kind of scary and all the good tours are getting shut down!

2009 Grammy Awards Announce Nominees!

Hey Everyone!
So its that time of the year again... no, I'm not talking about exams, or snow, I'm talking about Grammy nominations! Yup, thats right, the 52nd annual Grammy Awards have released their list of the year's nominees. Among the names are Paramore, Underoath, Death Cab For Cutie, MGMT, Silversun Pickups, Green Day and Katy Perry.

Not a bad list in my opinion. Kind of nice to see acts like Silversun and Underaoth up for grammys since their music and popularity are a little more discreet than some of the other major acts. The awards will air on January 31, 2010. They will be aired live from The Staples Centre in L.A. For a full list of nominees and more details on the selection process, click here.

So what do you think of the nominees? Anyone you'd like to see recognized or win? Let me know!
