SUM 41 Involved In Drunk Driving Accident

Hey Everyone!
Relax, no one in the band was behind the wheel. No, it seems like our Canadian boys in Sum 41 are having some rotten luck with their bus on this year's Vans Warped Tour. Apparently, their driver got behind the wheel after a few drinks and ran the bus off the road, endangering the lives of those on the road and those on board.

In a series of early morning twitter posts, the band gave fans a sort of play-by-play of the unfolding events. From the accident, to near fights, and replacement driver salvation, they let everybody know what was going on. They also made sure to note that the driver would never work for the band again, thank god. Drunk driving is seriously scary. You risk so many lives in taking hold of the wheel while drunk. Especially when you control a tour bus- thats a weapon in itself. A lot of metal, steel, and speed. Lethal combination when handled in a wreckless way.

What do you guys think of the situation? Must have really shaken to boys up!

Alexisonfire Shut Down Vancouver Olympic Venue

Hey Everyone!
So in wake of Canada hosting this year's winter Olympics, Vancouver has been playing host to a slew of Canadian musicians. Pride has hit the city with a tremendous force and its all been fun at the games until now, when St.Catherine natives and Canadian favorites- Alexisonfire, took the stage.

News reports are flying across the web stating that within seconds of the first track, police were forced to intervene and shut down the concert. Apparently, as soon as the band took the stage, the fans got rowdy and surged forward, breaking the fence and eliminating the space between the stage and the crowd. Eye witness reports are claiming that there was no direct violence apparent in the crowd, no fighting or acts of aggression, but at least 20 people were injured as a result of the pushing.

Alexisonfire apologized to the crowd, having to cancel their performance to prevent any further damage or injury. The boys said there was no way possible to play with the situation- no barrier, injured people and sharp objects on the ground. sadly, some of the audience members did not take it too well and began chanting back in anger... come on guys, you broke the safety barricade, WHAT DID YOU EXPECT? Check out a fan's video below

See people? This is what happens when you get pushy at shows.
Moshing is fun, but keep some level of control to it... this isn't the 1980s anymore
Lets hope no one was seriously hurt and that they return to Vancouver soon

Underoath Van Crash!

Hey Everyone!
So as I told you before, bus crashes are the new black because we just added ANOTHER band to the list! UnderOath is the latest band to join the ranks. Alternative Press and the band's personal twitter are confirming that the van carrying their equipment was mangled in a crash. The driver sustained some injuries and is currently stable, but most of the equipment was totaled in the wreck. It honestly looks like a miracle for the driver to be alive after this, so best wishes to the driver, Zach, for a speedy recovery. The van looks pretty much destroyed from these pictures, posted to their twitter and facebook pages. As a result, their show tonight in Omaha will be cancelled. No news yet on the rest of the tour dates.

Lets hope this trend is gonna slow down soon, its kind of scary and all the good tours are getting shut down!

Every Time I Die Involved In Bus Accident

Hey Everyone!
What is going on? Apparently bus accidents are the new black... every rock star just has to get in on this action. I think I'm gonna chalk this one up to the weather... snow and ice are not so forgiving when it comes to big tour buses. Reports are circulating that Every Time I Die were involved in a bus crash in Germany earlier today. They are currently touring Europe with In Flames and Killswitch Engage. Frontman Keith Buckley took to his twitter account about the accident stating "[The] bus is totaled. Everyone is ok. We even managed to salvage some beers. See you tomorrow, Munich. We'll post pics of the wreck soon" Well at least the guys are safe... and so is the beer! Lets just hope this doesn't keep up! We're still waiting on more news about the Weezer bus crash that left frontman Rivers Cuomo in a NY Hospital with internal complications and broken ribs... Drive safe and careful everyone. The black ice is already causing injuries!

Current mood:  shocked
Category: Life
Today at 7:18 AM EST, about 40 miles West of Albany on I-90, the weezer tour bus carrying Rivers and his family and assistants lost control as it hit a patch of black ice. The driver employed every ounce of skill he had in fighting to keep the bus upright, as the vehicle violently fishtailed over the highway. And while the bus did indeed go off the road, plunging about 8-10 vertical feet into a muddy ravine off to the right of the Thruway thus coming to a very abrupt stop, it did not flip or roll, despite having plowed right over a guardrail, flattening it. Kudos to the driver for somehow keeping things as level as they could be - surely this story would have been far more tragic if not for his actions.

Nonetheless the damage was severe, and everyone on the bus was either terrified or injured or both. The bus contained Rivers, his wife and daughter, their nanny, and Rivers' assistant Sarah. Both Sarah and Rivers' wife were pitched out of their upper level bunks onto the floor 5 feet below. Somehow Rivers' wife was uninjured, but Sarah sustained 2 fractured ribs and a fractured lower vertebrae. The baby daughter was in her crib unit and was fine, as was the nanny who was sleeping near the floor in her bunk at the time. However in the back lounge, Rivers was tossed around violently, waking up as he landed back on his mattress. He recalled not hitting anything, but later we learned that he must have, as he cracked 3 ribs and sustained some mostly minor but very painful internal damage, as well as hurting his lower leg somehow.

The interior of the bus was a chaotic mess with broken glass, smashed glasses and plates, food and clothing items strewn everywhere, as well as the refrigerator flying off the wall and many drawers coming right out of their slots, spewing their contents everywhere. On top of it the sliding interior doors were fused shut and the bus's electronics were ruined, so no one could get into the back lounge where Rivers lay immobile and unable to speak due to the pain in his ribcage. To top it off, the front door was jammed shut with 5 feet of heavy wet mud up pressed against it so there was no way to leave the bus.

Finally, using the jaws of life to remove a rear window bar, the local EMTs and firefighters got a ladder across the ravine to the rear bus window, where they could get to Rivers, eventually getting him and Sarah out on stretchers and into an ambulance. Meanwhile they dug frantically in the mud at the front of the bus, clearing the front door so everyone else could come out. To access the rest of the bus from Rivers' lounge, the fused sliding door was destroyed by the firefighters.

The other buses pulled up within 20 minutes of the accident, and already a long line of firetrucks and EMT vehicles were on the scene. I threw on my shoes and walked up just as the jaws of life were being turned on, catching a glimpse of Rivers lying inside on his back surrounded by EMTs. I couldnt believe what was happening in front of me, as Rivers lay so helpless, shivering in the center of the chaos, and meanwhile the sun was coming up and revealing an utterly beautiful light covering of snow on the surrounding trees. I dont know how to describe the wave of awfulness that gripped me as I watched, but adrenalin took over and the next thing I knew I was in the passenger seat of an ambulance transporting Rivers and Sarah to the hospital in Amsterdam, NY, about 10 miles from there. That adrenalin would sustain me all day, as everyone's did, from family to band to crew - everyone pitched in to help however they could all day as things unfolded.

Fast forward to now - Sarah was discharged, a 3-4 week period of extreme pain awaiting her as she heals from her injuries the only way possible, with time and gritted teeth. Rivers was transported to a larger area hospital where he remains under observation. He is resting about as comfortably as could be expected now, and we were relieved to hear that surgery is unlikely. Hopefully tomorrow the docs will have more info. You don't fool around with internal injury. Whatever happens, we forsee some gritted teeth in his future too.

We are sorry to say that the rest of the December Raditude Tour has been cancelled - when we can reschedule the dates we will, of course. I have no ticket or refund or whatever info at this time, but stay tuned to this site and the ticketing websites for more info. For now its a waiting game for all of us. Thanks for your kind thoughts and good wishes, we need them!

Rivers Cuomo Committed To Hospital

Hey Everyone!
So it was announced earlier today that Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo was committed to hospital after a bus crash in upstate New York. According to CNN, Weezer were heading to Boston after a show in Toronto on saturday night. Around 7:30am, the bus carrying Rivers, his wife and his daughter among its passengers, hit a patch of ice and swerved. After a frightening slide across a couple lanes of highway traffic, the bus went through a guardrail and landed in a ditch. Rivers complained of rib pain and was taken to St.Mary's hospital along with the band's assistant Sarah Kim, who complained of back pain. There are no further reports as of yet indicating the severity of the injuries.

So here's wishing a speedy recovery to Rivers & Sarah, and lets hope its nothing serious so the band can get back on the road for what is sure to be a spectacular tour!
