New Lady Gaga Video For "Alejandro" Hits The Air

Hey Everyone!

Yes, its true! The latest in the long line of Lady Gaga epics has finally been released. The eight minute video is, in true Gaga style, an oddity. In the first minute alone it features men in fishnet stockings, and a circus inspired military march. Fast forward a little more and you have a very dark funeral and some pretty twisted imagery. Pretty standard for her, but still, she manages to keep it interesting for sure. There is definitely a lot to see haha.

Check out the video HERE and see what you think.

Anyone else seeing a LOT of more modern nods to Madonna here? I REALLY am!
As always, let me know what you think, lets talk music videos :)

Teaser For Katy Perry's New Video Hits The Viral Circuit!

Hey Everyone!
Seems that yesterday, Katy Perry unveiled a 30 second clip of her new music video for "California Gurls". The song is reportedly her west coast response to Jay-Z's wildly popular "New York" which had everyone praising the country's east coast. Feeling the need to represent her coast and gender, Katy came up with this catchy summer hit. I love it. The first time I heard it, I wasnt so sure. But after a few patio nights with my girls, this song just seemed to define the early summer feeling. Check out the video clip below!

Cant wait to see the full video, LOVING the candyland on crack theme!
Cupcake bikinis anyone???

Green Day Nominated For Tony Awards

Hey Everyone!
Well, looks like American Idiot: The Musical has shaken off those early mixed reviews! Turns out that the show has recieved a few nods from the Tony Awards. The musical has been nominated for three awards at this year's ceremony. Not too shabby for a newcomer, I'd say. The nominations are for the following categories: Best scenic design of a musical (Christine Jones), Best Lighting Design of a musical (Kevin Adams) and Best musical. Hope they come out with something, GOOD LUCK BOYS!

What do you think? Should American Idiot win? Have you seen it?

Original Pink Spiders Lineup To Reunite?

Hey Everyone!
So rumors have been running wild that the original Pink Spiders lineup may be working together once more! I dont know how many of you are familiar with these guys, but if you arent PLEASE I urge you to give them a listen. Their music is seriously amazing. Kind of a retro fitted brand of pop punk... lots of catchy melodies. Hard not to fall in love with it. Anyways, the original lineup disbanded a couple years back around the time they released "Sweat It Out". The album was recorded with the original band, but the members soon departed due to royalty fee issues and left Matt Friction as the only founding member. Soon after, Matt announced a longterm hiatus so he could focus on his side project, Matt Friction and the Cheap Shots.

Matt announced however, that the original line would possibly be getting back together. Via myspace, he said that the three had been playing together and that talks of tours and albums could follow!

For a fan, this is definitely exciting news :) How about you guys? Excited?

New Anberlin Album Release Date

Hey Everyone!
So Anberlin have finally announced a date for their upcoming release. During a concert in New York today, lead vocalist Stephen Christian announced that the new album would hit the stores on September 21, 2010. It has tentatively been titled, "Dark Is The Way, Light Is A Place". Interesting title. Seems that those ridiculously long song titles trends may be taking a new shape in long album titles. Reinvention is a wondrous thing haha. The bands last album New Surrender was incredibly successful- reaching as high as #13 on the Billboard charts with their single "Feel Good Drag". I for one, cant wait to hear their new work. I'll leave you with one of my favorite songs by the boys of Anberlin. Its called "Time and Confusion". Enjoy!

How about you? Excited for new Anberlin music?

The Holly Springs Disaster Breakup!

Hey Everyone!
Sad news for fans today- The Holly Springs Disaster have broken up! According to their blog post yesterday- the Saskatchewan boys decided to call it quits after deciding as a group that they would be unable to replace frontman, Mike Froh. They claim it was not an easy decision, but a necessary one. "You all know how much we loved coming out and playing shows for you but it is something we feel isnt going to continue as the band you all once knew. And we cant get on stage and perform as THSD without all of us in it together" (Band's Blog- HERE). I think thats pretty fair. Its probably difficult to keep going when you lose a member of a band... things just arent the same. Fans notice it, obviously the bands would too, right? Makes sense. I know that I've seen these guys play my hometown stages a few times, always a fun show. Well, the boys say that they will be pursuing their own lives and side projects. Who knows, maybe instead of one awesome band, the breakup will only lead to the development of a few more? Fingers crossed!

What do you think of the news? Sad? Happy? Indifferent? Let me know!
