Hey Everyone!
Yup- its true! Even though the band broke it off a while back, its been confirmed that Boxcar Racer's album will soon be making an appearance on vinyl. Perhaps a must have for any die hard Blink-182/Tom Delonge/Travis Barker fan. I have the cd and its pretty rocking. Have to say that tracks like "I Feel So" and "There Is" still make regular appearances on my playlists. Now, the vinyl is being sold through Hot Topic chains and is on a very limited count. Only 2000 pressings of a limited edition black and red swirl vinyl are available... so act quickly if you're interested! A great addition to any fan's collection.
Do you still rock out to Boxcar? Whats your favorite track?

More Blink-182 On Vinyl
Hey Everyone
Mightier Than Swords records has announced the upcoming release of yet another piece of the essential Blink-182 catalogue to be available on vinyl! Oh yes, I cant wait for this one. Blink's self titled album (the one they released before the terrible, never to be spoken of again Hiatus) is going to be released in a limited pressing on the label's web store. The presale begins on May 24th at 12pm EST. There will be 5 color selections to choose from... all of them will consist of 500-2000 pressings (the later being a hot pink print available ONLY from Hot Topic). The store ships only to US and Canada addresses so if you live outside those countries... now is the time to get on the phone with that distant American relative of yours who would be more than happy to forward it to you upon arrival ahaha.

Limited Pressing Auction Off Vinyl Test Pressings For Haiti Relief

In light of the devastating earthquake that shook Haiti last week, many bands, artists and organizations are taking to their fan bases to raise some much needed money for to send aid to the country. One of many doing so is limited pressing, a site which offers auctions for limited edition vinyls. Among their typical postings, there is now a section (marked in pink) of impressive first pressing vinyls for which most or all proceeds (depending on the album) will go to organizations like Doctors Without Borders and other efforts in the disaster stricken republic. There are some fantastic albums up for grabs on this site, with some serious potential for any collectors out there. I will definitely be keeping my eyes on this site, watching some of the albums I would love to add to my personal catalog. Have to say, I'm mildly amused by the way one Mr.Pete Wentz has hiked up the selling costs of Fall Out Boys albums rather successfully. At first he indicated on his Twitter that he wished only to own them himself, but he later stated that if he indeed won the auctions, he would have the band sign them and re-auction them. He also claims that if someone manages to outbid him by a cent, the album(s) will be signed before shipment if you'd like. So theres some incentive. Just think, you could have an FOB autograph collection on a limited first test pressing vinyl... honestly, like them or not it would be worth a small fortune in the future. So check out the auctions here and see if something catches your eye. Yet another cool way to do something good for humanity. Help out Haiti, there are lives at stake here. We hold the power to help these people, lets do it!
How have you shown support for Haiti? Let me know!

Music Format: The Ongoing Debate
So in a lot of my classes lately, the whole debate about changing music formats has become one of high interest. I mean, when you think about it, there are so many options out there old and new. Personally, my music collection is made up of a bit of everything... I have vinyl (both 7" & 12"), CDs, Itunes digital, cassettes, pretty much everything. I like to keep my mind open to different technologies. In terms of music, I feel like each format lets you interpret the tracks in a new way. If I had to pick, I'd say I love vinyl the most. I always loved vinyl, but my parents were always too afraid to let me use their old school players for fear of me breaking it. But I got a record player for Christmas last year and its been a staple in my life ever since. I just cant get over the quality... the way it has its flaws, how it plays with little scratches and white noise. Its not perfect, not airbrushed and over edited, but its natural. Thats why its my favorite. There's just something about it that makes me feel like I'm in the studio, listening to the raw demos of each track as it plays... So now I turn the question to you, whats your favorite and why? Be it sound quality like me and vinyl, or maybe even wide availability like Itunes, I'd like to hear your thoughts!
Thanks, looking forward to getting some feedback from you guys!

Song of the Day: So Contagious by Acceptance : I saw these guys when I was in high school, one of my first (and certainly not my last) show at London's own Call The Office. Anyways, this song has been stuck in my head since then. Sadly, they've disbanded since then but I still love to play their CD. Hope you like it even half as much as I do.
